11 Luscious Easter food ideas: The Easter foodie guide

One of the best things about Easter is the delicious food. From roast lamb lunches to chocolate treats, we've rounded up the best Easter food ideas in 2023

Easter is a time for get-togethers and plenty of indulgence, whether that’s in the form of chocolate eggs, a wedge of Simnel fruitcake, a tower of toasted hot cross buns, or long lunches with lamb, ham and all the trimmings.

To celebrate spring, here are our top foodie picks for Easter feasting.

Fortnum & Mason The Easter Feaster, £130

Fortum’s is the go-to destination for hampers, and right in time for Easter, here’s their take on a springtime gourmet feast.

Containing everything you could want for a delicious lunch for four, the centrepiece is the lamb Wellington that’s encased in a chicken mousse and a buttery, crisp pastry.

Conveniently, just fully-defrost the Wellington and place in the oven.

This is accompanied by a bottle of Fortnum’s full-bodied Claret, a Simnel cake for dessert, and to finish, crackers and cream cheese.

Plus, the food is delivered in the classic F&M Eau de Nil reusable cool bag that is ideal for picnics as we head into summer.

Pipers Farm Hot Cross Buns, £4.95

There's nothing quite like a freshly toasted hot cross bun with a thick layer of butter, and these ones from Pipers Farm are spiced, studded with juicy fruit, and feature the classic hand-piped cross and sweet glaze on top.

They are available in a pack of six, and while you’re at it, add their Raw Milk Cultured Butter to your basket.

Ginger Pig Boned and Rolled Lamb Shoulder, £46.35

It wouldn’t be Easter without a lamb dish, and beloved butchers, Ginger Pig offers a variety of joints and cuts, including this easy to handle boned and rolled lamb shoulder.

It’s a flavourful cut thanks to the fat marbling, and because it's deboned, it's ready to go straight in the oven. Just roast it slow for meat that melts in the mouth.

Accompany the lamb with side dishes such as mustard glazed carrots, and buttery new potatoes.

Cartwright & Butler The Happy ‘Chee-Aster’ Hamper, £32
