How to Maintain Luscious Locks

Whether you like to spend time styling your hair each morning, or you prefer to leave it to its natural state, having healthy, gorgeous hair is always going to make you feel better. Your hair goes through a lot each day and this is why it’s important to give it the care and attention it needs to stay strong. Here are some useful tips to help you maintain luscious locks all year round.

Find the Right Products

Everyone has a different hair type, which is why it’s important to know yours before you start buying hair care products. For those who have oilier hair by nature, you will want to avoid shampoos and conditioners that are designed for people with dry or damaged hair, as these products are likely to make your hair feel greasier.

Instead, try to find hair powder products as they can refresh your hair and absorb some of the excess oil. Clarifying shampoo could also be a useful product for you, as it stops excess build-up. Figure out what your hair type is to make sure you’re buying the best hair care products for it.

Avoid Bleach

While you might not be a natural blonde, but you love that hair color, the truth is that bleach isn’t good for your hair. It strips your natural color and proteins, and if used for years it could end up contributing to hair thinning or falling out. If you have noticed this happening, you can always look into hair transplants as a safe and permanent solution. However, to avoid this problem, reconsider how often you want to apply bleach to your hair.

Don’t Over-wash

If you have gotten into the habit of washing your hair every day it might be strange to change this, but it’s worth doing. Your hair produces natural oils and if you left it long enough, it would eventually start cleaning itself. However, not many people can battle through 6 weeks of greasy hair until it starts to do this! Washing your hair is good for it, but make sure you’re not excessive as this will disrupt the natural oil production that your hair needs.

Don’t Over-heat

Blow-drying, curling, or straightening your hair every day is another thing that can damage it. While applying heat occasionally is fine, over-heating your hair will lead it to become dry, frizzy, and burned. Try to give your hair a break and limit the amount of heat you apply to it each week. At the very least, make sure you’re giving it good moisturising treatments every couple of weeks to make up for it.

Cut it Regularly

You know that feeling when you get a fresh hair cut? How healthy and bouncy it feels? Well, this is why you should get it cut regularly. This will encourage growth and help to keep your hair more manageable from day to day. It’s recommended that you visit your hairdresser every 6 weeks for a trim to keep your hair at its best.

To maintain luscious locks and to inspire hair envy, follow these tips for the best results.
