From Brownies to Milkshakes, everybody loves chocolate. Here are 10 delicious recipes that will definitely get your mouth watering.

To celebrate National Chocolate Week (13-19 October 2014), I'd like to share 10 choctastic recipes with you, but before I do here are 10 chocolate facts you may not know.

10 Choctastic Facts

1. The oldest traces of chocolate date back to around 1100BC in south central Mexico. The Mayans and Aztecs were known to enjoy chocolate drinks too. 

2. Chocolate contains alkaloids that stimulate changes in the body and are linked to the brain’s levels of the feel good neurotransmitter serotonin. 

3. One cocoa tree produces about 50 pods twice a year. Each pod has enough cocoa for eight bars of milk chocolate or four bars of dark. Each tree can provide enough pods for 400-800 bars of chocolate a year. 

4. Research published last year showed a high correlation between a nation’s chocolate intake and the number of Nobel Prizes it wins. 

5. In 1847, J.S. Fry’s of Bristol invented the chocolate bar. 

6. The word chocolate was first recorded in English in 1604, but England’s first cup of hot chocolate wasn't made until 1647. 

7. 6 million Kit Kats are produced in York every day, that's over 1 billion every year. 

8. Terry’s first created the Chocolate Apple before the iconic Chocolate Orange. 

9. 66,000 Crème Eggs are made every hour. 

10. The man who invented chocolate chip cookies sold the idea to Nestle Toll House in return for a lifetime supply of chocolate.
