10 must-watch Christmas Netflix films

Love Hard (from November 5th)

A hopeless romantic and very single journalist from Los Angeles, Natalie (Nina Dobrev), thinks she's hit the jackpot when she swipes right on the very handsome East-coaster Tag (Darren Barnet from Never Have I Ever), 

Taking a leap of faith she jumps on a flight to surprise her crush for the holidays, only to discover that she's been catfished by Tag's childhood friend who is equally unlucky in love, Josh (Jimmy O. Yang).

This lighthearted rom-com chronicles her attempt to reel in love and is a sure heartwarmer. 

The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star (from November 18th)

Vanessa Hudgens plays three audacious royals in this Netflix sequel. When a priceless relic is stolen, Queen Margaret and Princess Stacy enlist the help of Margaret’s look-alike cousin Fiona (all played by Hudgens). Fiona decides to team up with a mysterious and dashing man in this search and lights up the sparks of a tantalising Christmas romance. 

A Boy Called Christmas (from November 24th)

Adapted from the bestselling book by Matt Haig, this much-awaited film sees an ordinary young boy called Nikolas set out on an extraordinary adventure into the snowy north in search of his father who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of the elves, Elfhelm.

Taking with him a headstrong reindeer called Blitzen and a loyal pet mouse, Nikolas soon meets his destiny in this magical, comic and endearing story that proves nothing is impossible. 

Single All the Way (from December 2nd)

Wanting to do something about his perpetual singledom, Peter (played by Ugly Betty star Michael Urie), convinces his best friend Nick (Philemon Chambers) to spend Christmas with his family and play his pretend-boyfriend. 

But the plan comes undone when Peter's unknowing mother (Hocus Pocus' Kathy Najimy) sets him up on a blind date with her personal trainer James (Luke Macfarlane). This is a guaranteed feel-good that's worth hitting play for.

Robin Robin (from November 24th)

Robin Robin, is a stop-motion Christmas musical from Aardman that promises to spellbound the entire family with its endearing earnestness. The premise revolves around (eponomously named) Robin who is raised by a loving family of mice, when her egg rolls into their den. 

As she grows up, her differences become more apparent and she embarks on a journey of self-discovery. 

A Naija Christmas (Coming in December)

This upcoming Christmas family drama sees three sons race to fulfil their Nigerian mother’s wish to bring home wives for Christmas, while she strives to plan a Christmas celebration worth writing home about. You can find out whether their efforts were a success or not in December.

A Castle For Christmas (from November 26th)

In this star-studded Christmas rom-com, a famous American author Sophie Brown (played by Brooke Shields), travels to Scotland hoping to buy a small castle of her own, but the prickly owner, Duke Myles, is reluctant to sell to a foreigner.

Working to find a compromise, the pair constantly butt heads, but they just may find something more than they were expecting. You can check it out from the 26th of November. 

Blown Away: Christmas (from November 19th)

Blown Away cranks up the heat this year with a second season. This year sees talented glass blowers compete in a series of Christmas-themed challenges to become the The Best in Holiday Blow. 

In the spirit of giving, the winner will not only receive a $10,000 cash prize, but an additional $10,000 will also be donated to their charity of choice. Blown Away: Christmas is hosted by Queer Eye's Bobby Berk and resident glass blowing evaluator Katherine Gray.

School of Chocolate (from November 26th)

In another competition series worth checking out, this time featuring hopeful chocolatiers learn the trick of the trade under the watchful eye of Amaury Guichon, a world-leading chocolateir. One lucky student who manages to prove themselves ‘Best in Class' after eight episodes will win a prize package that includes a career-changing opportunity.

The Witcher: Season 2 (from December 17th)

In this second season after a two-year break, convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.

While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside. Looks like another Netflix binge is on the horizon!
