With a new university term looking for either returning or new students, here are some essentials to consider for your or your loved ones studies
As summer winds down and the temperature starts to
drop, we inevitably start to think about new things around the corner— autumn,
the rest of the year and University coming back into term. And whether you have
a child in university, or yourself are a returning or new student starting your
degree, it’s advisable to have utilities and items prepared for the academic
year ahead.
Trouser hanger with clips
We’ve all been there, not having quite enough room for
your clothes and wondering how you can magically fit more clothes into the same
space. In University the problem is only exacerbated, but this intuitive hanger
set can conveniently hold jeans, trousers, skirts and more, helping to
alleviate this common problem.
A4 Pukka pad set
Simple and to the point, these A4 notebooks are great
for regular note taking. They’re sturdy and reliable, coming with perforated
edges and 200 pages of premium quality paper.
If your laptop dies unexpectedly or isn’t suitable in
a certain lecture, then a notepad is the answer.
Amazon Basics knife set
You can handily both get all of the knives you need
and have a colourful set of cutlery with this Amazon basics set. The knife
blades are made of stainless steel and have plastic handles—the set includes a
bread knife, carving knife and a chef’s knife, among others.
Foldable washing basket
Getting your laundry washed and sorted out may be one
of the more tedious sides to university life but it’s a necessity for being
clean and organised. This basket is foldable and comes with enough room for
storing dirty laundry, plus it can alternatively be used for storing things
like towels and bedsheets.
Storage bag with handles
A big part of going to university, whether you’re a
freshman or returning for a new year in a new residence is made up of moving
in. This is where moving boxes come in, but if you’d rather not be saddled with
luggage, these storage bags are a nice option.
They come with reinforced handles, heavy-duty zippers
and the bags are conveniently water-resistant to boot.
Tower extension lead
One problem of university accommodation may be around
a lack of facilities, especially if you have multiple devices you regularly use
that need to be charged (phone, laptop, power bank, etc).
This tower extension could be the solution with
several plug sockets, five USB ports and surge protection for all the extra
potential electricity going through it.
LED alarm clock
Make sure you wake up on time for all of your lectures
with this LED alarm clock. It’s also multi-functional, doubling up as a mirror
that you can use through the day. It has two USB ports, as well as a wall hook
and detachable stand for keeping it upright.
Multi-functional desktop organiser
On a day-to-day basis you’ll probably need a
convenient place to store your notebooks, books, pens, erasers and other items,
so this is where a desktop organiser can prove really helpful.
With it you can hold several different items, with two
A4-file holder sections, three shelves and a drawer which is handy.
Portable mini humidifier
Humidifiers don’t often get talked about too much in
terms of things that would be good to have in a bedroom, but there are benefits
to having them. They provide more moisture in the air which can aid with dry
skin, nose and throat issues, improve sleep by reducing snoring and can also
relieve flu symptoms.
Note: Avoid overusing the humidifier to avoid damp in
the room, keep away from fabrics (curtains, beds) and clean the device
regularly. Ideal indoor humidity levels are between 30 – 50 per
cent.
