Why is Kenya a hot destination for Aussies?
East Africa's Kenya has long been one of Africa's most popular safari locations, and its Masai Mara National Park is known for its abundance of animals and yearly Great Migration.
Nothing says "classic safari" like a Kenyan safari. It's a country full of romance, excitement, and adventure—A hot destination for Aussies.
A safari in Kenya offers not only breathtaking scenery in one of the world's most pristine locations but also provides close encounters with some of Africa's most sought-after wildlife.

An amazing 5-day Kenya Safari

Those who wish to explore the best of Kenya in less than a week might consider this 5-day Amazing Kenya Safari, which includes Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, and the Masai Mara. A boat safari on Lake Naivasha, a walk with giraffes and zebras on Crescent Island, and following the Big Five and the Wildebeest migration on the Masai Mara plains round out this incredible itinerary.

Day 1: Nairobi—Amboseli National Park

After a hearty breakfast in Nairobi, you'll set off a three-hour drive south through the Masai lands to Amboseli National Park. The word Amboseli in Maa means land of water, indicating its actual nature. You'll arrive in time for a picnic lunch in the park or a hot lunch at your lodge.
Afterward, take an afternoon game drive around the park to witness herds of wildebeest, zebra, lion, hyena, a variety of antelope, and Kenya's largest herd of elephants, all against the stunning backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak.
Once the sun goes down, you'll head back to your lodge for some food.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park—Lake Naivasha

When it comes to seeing Africa's highest peak, Amboseli National Park, often known as the "Royal Court of Kilimanjaro," is unparalleled. You'll have to get up early for the best sights of sunrise. It's impossible to believe until you see Kilimanjaro in the early morning sunlight, with its snow blushing pink and its mountainside a deep purple. It's a stunning setting for a leisurely start to the day.
Predators like lions and leopards are more active at this time of day because of the lower light levels and cooler temperatures, making for superb game viewing opportunities.
Afterward, you'll proceed to Lake Naivasha, where you'll have dinner and spend the night at your chosen lodge.

Day 3: Lake Naivasha—Masai Mara

After a delicious breakfast, you'll take a boat for a ride on this enormous freshwater lake, which sits at the highest point of the Kenyan Rift Valley at 1884 meters and is home to a variety of animal species. Before you arrive at Crescent Island, you'll get a chance to see hippos and birds.
Walking about in the sanctuary on the island, you'll get to see the animals in their natural habitat without the worry of being preyed upon. Other than the residents, the view of the lake is spectacular, with beautiful flowers and the Great Rift towering over the horizon. Then you'll drive to Masai Mara, which is located on the lake's shore.

Day 4: Masai Mara

The Masai Mara sunrise is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so get up early. For those who want to see the sunrise over the savannah, we'll take you out to watch the big cats hunt for prey as they take advantage of the morning chill.
You can even travel to the sky with a hot air balloon safari, which will take you above all of the excitement before landing on the plains for a champagne brunch amid the wildlife. Ask your safari guide about the possibility of going up in a hot air balloon as an add-on to your trip.
After a late breakfast at your lodge, you'll pack a picnic lunch and travel back into the park for a full day of exploring.
Over 95 animal species live in the habitat, including vast herds of elephants and buffaloes that wander the plains, hippo pools in the Mara brown rivers, Masai giraffes, topis, grant, and Thompson gazelles, zebras, plenty of Nile crocodiles, blue- and red-tailed monkeys and tree hyraxes. As a result, the area is a perfect habitat for Kenya's famed big cats because of its abundance of herbivores. You can spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals.
After an exciting day, you'll return to your lodge for the night for dinner.
Day 5: Masai Mara—Nairobi
You'll begin your day with an early breakfast and wave goodbye to the stunning landscapes of the Masai Mara. It's a great way to wrap up your safari and nature experience before returning to your hotel in Nairobi.
