Ways to wear: Blush pink

Ways to wear: Blush pink
The colour that has lasted almost three seasons… there’s simply no getting away from blush pink. A feminine, romantic hue, it can be tricky to wear without looking saccharine, but by subverting the shapes and using it sparingly, it can be a surprisingly easy way to stay on trend.

Pink androgyny

Opting for pinks in more masculine shapes can be a great way to avoid looking overly girlish. Boxy, oversized jackets make a great layer this summer that still offers a breeze around the body—throw yours over your shoulders for an effortless look.
Culottes will show enough ankle to offset the heavier top half and cut through the sweetness—gingham culottes are a season essential or choose a breezy white linen for a holiday wardrobe.
This look needs very little by way of accessories, so a nude t-shirt and pale bag will bring everything together without taking any of the attention off of your key pieces.

Loose and tonal

Burgundy and pink work wonderfully together for a slightly more grown-up outfit that suits both the office and errand running.
Even better, this look relies on pieces that are probably already waiting in your wardrobe—a humble cotton shirt, brogues, satchel and hat provide a base for a well-tailored cigarette trouser in blush.
Don’t be afraid to shop around. This look works best in slightly looser layers, so opt for a pintuck trouser style or size up to achieve a more relaxed fit.

Preppy basics

T-shirt, trousers and coat—this look couldn’t be any simpler! This time around, it’s all about the details to add a hint of feminine twee. A playful speckle in the coat and this season’s essential slogan tee offer a pop of interest that can still translate as professional.
Bowback heels add a touch of luxury, especially in suede, but if heels are your nenemis, pink converse or soft taupe trainers add a sporty touch that counteracts the narrowness of the suit trouser.

Colour clash

Dig out your favourite lippy blush pink really comes to life when paired with a pillar box red.
An easy way to achieve that high-fashion colour block that fills magazines and blogs, think one part pink to every part red, and keep styles and shapes as minimal as possible—no pattern or print needed here.
Low mules offer a more practical alternative to stilettos and are a great wardrobe investment if you’re new to experimenting with colour.

Top-to-toe pink

A bold move, but one that pays off in spades for weddings or summer events. The head-to-toe pink looks relies on curating an array of complimentary shades, choosing figure-fitting shapes to avoid coming across boxy—peplums, tucked hems and cat-eye sunglasses are all great options.
A full blush gown would make a punch for a formal event, but separates can often be a better investment, mixing and matching depending on how brave you are feeling that day.
Remember to add the finishing touches with your beauty—a well-applied blush or soft manicure can really help make this style look intentional.
