Blu Atlas Review (2022) - Our first impressions

Many brands have traditionally shifted their focus onto women, leaving the men and their skin “high and dry.”

While that may have been the way of the past, there are brands cropping up in the industry now that are specifically more tailoring towards men. Why? Because men have skin that needs proper nourishment too. Whether they have normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, or combination skin, they deserve a skincare regimen that provides them with ample benefits.

That is precisely why we are here today. We went out on a hunt and dove deep into the men’s skincare game to find a brand men could trust, and after much digging, we found Blu Atlas. We gave this new brand a shot, then promptly collected our first impressions and devised this article that is chock full of our honest first impressions of Blu Atlas for the year 2022.

Prior to even trying any of the actual products ourselves in our Blu Atlas review, we first investigated the brand, and what we found was unique and captivating.

Blu Atlas is a New-York-based brand that prides itself on providing modern men with grooming products that effectively meet their skin and hair needs while doing so healthily. Their premium products are created by professionals, are 100% vegan, and composed of solely natural ingredients.

All of their products, from skin to hair and beard, are without artificial ingredients. This is a huge deal because artificial and synthetic ingredients in skincare have trumped the industry for far too long, trumping skin and overall human health alongside it.

On top of that, their products have also been dermatologist-tested for both safety and efficacy. That means that they have the science to back up their products, and we really like that.

The packaging was carefully designed and constructed, appearing simplistic, modern, and non-pretentious. Our first impression: Blu Atlas is no-nonsense.

And we mean that in a good way. A very good way, in fact. We didn’t want to try yet another frilly, flaunty, and overbearing grooming product that is difficult to read and filled with “fluff” and buzzwords.

Blu Atlas, however, is different. Their products are simplistic, they only list actually necessary information, and are very monochromatic. Every word on the quality containers was easy to read and straightforward. All products are lightweight, easy to handle, and downright attractive in a desirable and modest manner. Not enough Blu Atlas reviews out there mention how wonderfully minimalistic they are.

No doubt, these products come in packaging that is for the modern man. And we believe that this speaks volumes for the brand, as this isn’t just for their products, but for their uniform branding as well. And we are here for it.

We mentioned earlier what ingredients Blu Atlas so carefully leaves out of their products, but we haven’t talked about what they do use.

Needless to say, we were excited to give these products and their ingredients a try, so we went ahead and ordered their three most popular products: their Volcanic Ash Face Cleanser, Shave Cream, and Body Wash.

We first gave the body wash a try. When squeezing the bottle, the product easily flowed out of the nozzle. It was lightweight and didn’t feel like it was too heavy in the palm or on the body (something that not all body washes can boast).

When applying it on the body, the product almost instantly foamed up. Rubbing it in circles on the skin was a luxurious moment. It glazed over the skin easily and not laboriously in the least. The body wash felt less difficult to wash off as well. Our skin felt light, airy, and pleasantly refreshed afterwards, even while still in the shower.

During almost every shower, you should save the best for last: your face. This is to combat any possibilities of clogging your pores with other shower products.

When applying the cleanser, the face wash was impressively lightweight, quickly foamed in the hands, and felt invigorating to rub into the skin with warm water. It was as if, while lightly rubbing it into the skin, it was lifting impurities away immediately. While the water was warm, the product was delicate and cooling. After rinsing, it took a whole lot for us not to let out an audible sigh of relief and relaxation.

We know just how important the dynamic duo is to your grooming experience: your shaving cream and razor. While we can’t speak to your razor, we can give you a solid review on the shave cream from Blu Atlas.

As the instructions clearly described, we applied a thin layer of the product on our face. While shaving, it felt like a truly helpful agent, a shaving cream that (for once) didn’t fight with our razor’s movements, our skin, or both.

After finishing up shaving and rinsing off the product, the shave was noticeably closer than we could’ve imagined. Nicks and cuts were practically non-existent, and we were left feeling ready to take on the day.

We’ve talked about how we felt directly after using the products, but what about hours later? Were there still lasting effects or did they quickly vanish as swiftly as we left the bathroom and went about our day?

The face cleanser did a superb job of leaving our face cleansed yet properly hydrated. The shave cream, too, held up quite nicely. There was little to no irritation on the face from shaving, even hours and hours later. As for the body wash, we were able to go about our day, feeling an overall sensation of cleanliness, invigoration, and moisturization.

You might’ve guessed it already, but we thoroughly enjoyed using Blu Atlas! Their products were pure, straightforward, and effective. It felt as if we were using truly premium products, but we didn’t need to pay a premium.
