Tips that will help you to prepare for your very first concert

If you want to prepare for your first concert then you have come to the right place. It doesn’t matter whether you are going to a pop concert or a heavy metal show, because there are many things that you can do to try and prepare for your very first concert. Want to find out more? Simply look below.

A lot of venues don’t allow smoking

One thing that you have to remember is that a lot of venues do not allow smoking. Check out Snusboss if you are concerned about this, as they have a range of nicotine patches available and you can easily take some to the gig with you. You may be thinking that if a venue does not allow smoking, that they will allow vaping but this is not always the case at all.  You need to look up the rules in advance if you want to be able to make the best decision regarding your gig experience.

Dress comfortably

One of the first things that you need to know before you go to your very first gig is that they can be very tiring. You have to wait in very long lines and you will need to stand for the whole night too. This is why it is so important that you dress with comfort in mind. Try and make sure that you wear comfortable shoes and also make sure that you avoid any shoes that may be open-toed. Heels are also a no-go. You have to remember that you also have to keep a light bag as well. As always, only take things with you if they are absolutely necessary. If you can do this then you will soon find that you will set yourself up for a good time.

Get there early

One of the many perks that come with general admission tickets is that you have a good chance of being able to get close to the stage. You won’t have to worry about paying any extra money, and you can easily get there a few hours before if you want. If you do this, then you are almost guaranteed to have a front-row space. That being said, you have to remember that everyone else will be thinking the same thing. A good rule of thumb that you need to follow is that the earlier you can get there, the better.

Get some breathing room

You need to do your bit when it comes to protecting your space. This will allow you to enjoy the gig to the fullest. Try to spread your legs and keep them shoulder-width apart. This will give you plenty of breathing room. If you can, you need to avoid getting pushed around. Stand your ground, as this is the best way for you to make sure that you do not lose your place. With standing gigs, you won’t be able to go to the bathroom and then come back to your seat. You will probably end up losing your place if you do leave the crowd, so make sure that you are happy with this if you ever decide to nip out for a refreshment. Sure, you might be able to push your way back in, but some people might not be happy with you doing this, and they may stand their ground to stop you. As always, be polite and be considerate. If you can do this then you will soon find that you can come out on top.

Keep your cool

You may find that if you are going to a rock or heavy metal gig, that people can get pretty lively. Sometimes people will knock or elbow you, but you have to remember that they are not doing this on purpose. They may just be getting carried away. If you can, you need to try and keep your cool, and you also need to make sure that you do not get wrapped up in an altercation that could well have been avoided.  Most of the time, people who go to gigs are lovely but be prepared for a surplus of movement when you get deep into the crowd.

Know the band

What is one of the worst things that you can do when going to a gig? Not know the band. You have to be familiar with the band if you can as this will help you to maximise the amount of fun you can have when at the gig. Listen to the songs that are being played beforehand. There are many ways that you can do this, and there are even sites that are devoted to gig setlists as well. This will give you an idea of what songs you should expect so that you can make sure that you learn them properly. Remember that singing along with friends around you is easily one of the best experiences, but if you do not know the words then you may not be able to do this well.

Participate

When you go to a concert, you need to make sure that you stay active and that you do your bit to participate. Wave your arms around, clap your hands and also sway a little. Appreciate the music while you are there because there is nothing worse for a band than a timid crowd. Try and enjoy yourself and forget about how tired you may be for a moment. If you can do this then you know that you can have the best time ever.

Take some pictures

Going to concerts probably isn’t something that you can do on a day to day basis. It doesn’t matter what experience you are looking for, because you’ll want to remember your very first concert if you can. Memories may go away, but pictures are easily here to stay. If you are concerned about damaging your good camera or your phone then invest in a disposable camera. This is especially useful if you know that the crowd is going to get rowdy.
