For the love of food – How Food Played a Major Role in Steve Sidd’s Success
Being passionate about what you do is one thing, but turning that love into a profitable business requires a lot of luck and talent. The success of your business is a result of your love for it. Steve Sidd, an Australian catering mogul, loves food and satisfying his clients.

Coming from humble beginnings, Steve’s parents worked in a restaurant and later established their own. He stayed in the kitchen with his father to observe and learn while the other children would play. His mother waking him up and putting him in a taxi to go to the restaurant and assist his father is one of his happiest memories. He developed a passion for food and serving customers to make them happy. He loved the general hubbub of the restaurant. When he turned 18, Steve discovered a thriving business opportunity in an abandoned fruit store that most people would not have bothered to look at. This became a way for him to continue his family’s legacy.
His father was supportive of his idea but was honest about the challenges that come with starting a business. Today, he is proud to have him as his son, and for all the success he has achieved. When Steve spotted his father dining at his restaurant and displaying a photo of a younger Steve to everyone nearby, he claims to have experienced a "full circle" moment because he knows his father is very proud of him. 
Sidd places great importance on hospitality and brings that spirit to his locations. The employees feel completely at ease with him. Being the owner of the company did not make him as proud as most people do; on the contrary, he became even more engaged with every employee, irrespective of their position. He treats them as members of his family, which is another factor that contributed to Sidd's success.
He owns various restaurants, cafes, and clubs and is now involved as a consultant because he believes that as a business owner himself, he could add value to the role. He works closely with his catering company Catering HQ to make sure their clients get the best experience possible. It offers high-quality menus, at all of their 40+ venues, that are also very reasonably priced. With more than 350 employees and a mix of 26 dining concepts, they will precisely personalize their menu and services to serve their customers better and provide customized function services.
Like a true businessman, Sidd seized the opportunity given by Covid when the entire world went into lockdown. He became co-owner of the software package Hospitality Genie, which provides efficiency and profit to a growing catering business. Sid uses this software and plans to expand it and reach other businesses.
Sidd is now a successful owner of various restaurants and clubs and the Managing Director of his catering company. He feels at home when he's in the thrilling atmosphere of a kitchen. Being inspired by his parents, Steve has built his whole life around food, and he is very proud of all that he has achieved. Steve and his partner, Albie Aldahwai, have dedicated themselves to making significant contributions to the hospitality industry. Over the years, they have worked closely together, leveraging their unique skills and shared vision to drive positive change in the field.
