5 types of content to share on Instagram to get more followers 
Instagram is the most visual of all social media platforms. Unlike Twitter, Facebook, and Linked, for example, you’re not going to post anything here without an image. This leads to an important question: what type of visual content should you share on Instagram?
While there is no right or wrong answer to this question, since it depends largely on your audience and goals, there are many types of content you can experiment with. Before you get started, review some of the top Instagram accounts in your niche to see what type of content is hitting home with your audience. This will give you a clear idea of where to start. 
With that out of the way, here are five types of content you can share, so you don’t have to buy Instagram followers:
1. Selfies
Okay, this isn’t going to work for every individual and brand, but if you know one thing about Instagram it’s that this type of content is always a big hit.
For example, if you’re a fitness influencer, selfies at the gym can be a big hit with your audience. Or if you’re an author, taking a few photos with your most recent book release is a good idea.
The one thing to remember is that you don’t want to overdo it with selfies. Even if you’re in an industry where this is widely accepted, do your best to mix up your content. Adding a bit of variation every now and again will work in your favor when attempting to attract a larger audience. 
2. Inspirational quotes
People get excited about inspirational quotes. And when they get excited about the quotes you share, they’re more likely to engage with your content and hopefully follow you. 
The nice thing about inspirational quotes is that you can grab them from the internet within a matter of seconds. There are thousands of websites where you can source these quotes. So, all you have to do is find one that you like, alter the image to suit your requirements, and post it.
If you want to take this one step further, share a caption - with hashtags, of course - to explain your stance on the quote. For example, if it’s a quote about business, talk about why it’s important to you or how it’s helped you grow your business to this point. 
3. Infographics
These have long been common among business professionals and brands. There are many benefits of sharing infographics, including but not limited to:
  • The opportunity to share your knowledge of a specific subject
  • The opportunity to provide your audience with information, such as data or statistics, that they’ll find useful
  • The chance for your followers to share your infographic, both on and off Instagram
If you don’t have the design skills to create an infographic, you can use one of the many free design tools that are available. And if that doesn’t work, don’t hesitate to hire a professional to assist you.
Tip: in addition to sharing your infographics on Instagram, consider doing the same on other social media platforms and your blog. There is no point in letting this high quality, engaging content go to waste. Get it in front of as many people as possible. 
4. User generated photos
Depending on your brand, you may receive user generated photos from time to time. Rather than let this high quality content rot away in your inbox, put it to good use on social media. It’s nice to have a backlog of user generated content to pull from, as you can use it to fill in on days when you don’t have anything else to share. Also, if you tag the user in the post, they’re likely to engage with it while sharing with their audience. This improves the likelihood of your content going viral - and that’s never a bad thing.
Tip: if you plan on using user generated photos on Instagram, be sure that you ask the person who submitted it for permission to do so. 
5. Behind the scenes
People love to know what’s happening behind the scenes, so if possible, share this type of content on Instagram. Take for example a fast growing tech company. Your audience loves the products and services you offer, but what they really want to know is what goes into creating them.
You could give them an inside look at your company by snapping photos of your office, meeting rooms (during the action), and the manufacturing process. 
Don’t be afraid to show your audience what happens behind the scenes. It’s scary at first, as you don’t want to give too much away, but as long as you set parameters everything should fall into place.
