How to strengthen the bond with your pets?

Having a pet can be a magical moment for a lot of people. Welcoming a new furry guest in your life conveys a feeling of bliss unmatched by anything else.

Unfortunately, many new pet owners can take a while to adjust with their pets and struggle to bond with them. It is important that you and your furry friend have a healthy and loving relationship with each other. According to celebrity dog trainer Nicole Ellis, certain steps will help you get closer with your pet and eventually become its best friend.

This goes without saying but spending time with your pets can greatly help you bond with them. Cats, dogs, and other animals love to be included in the activities of their humans. Whether it is going on errands or just chilling at home watching a movie, make sure your furry friends are with you and enjoying themselves. In time, you’ll be inseparable.

Another thing to keep in mind is that playtime between an owner and their pets is the best way to bond and share wonderful moments together. Cats love playing with balls of yarn and fishing pole toys. It keeps them active, focused and strengthens the bond between them and you. Dogs on the other hand, are more social and love playing with tennis balls and fetch in parks. It is important to know what type of play your pet enjoys. Just like each individual is different, animals are different from each other too. Explore, and figure out what would be the best activity for you. Not only would these activities keep them in good health and stave off boredom, but it would go a long way making you and your pets closer.

Most people forget that training the pets and teaching them tricks is a healthy outlet for you and for your furry little friends. Whether you’re teaching them a simple command like “sit” or teaching them a more complex backflip and dance, your pet is sure to enjoy your company and would love you all the more for it. Training would also ease frustration as your pets would grow to be more obedient and well behaved. Just be sure to reward them after. Ellis offers special training for pets that will not only train them but bring out their overall cute personality.

Communication aligns everything

Humans can sometimes take a while to understand their pet’s system of communication. Animals more often than not communicate through body language and behavior. At first, it can be quite confusing for you to understand what your pet is trying to tell you but it is vital to communicate with them effectively. The internet is a good place to start to figure out your pets’ language. As is a good book. When you begin to understand one another, you would grow closer together.

Your pets have their own favorite foods and stuff they dislike eating. Knowing their habits and moods and treating them to something they enjoy would be a wonderful opportunity to bond. Giving them an opportunity to eat and experience a wide variety of foods and surprising them with treats from time to time would be great. You can either cook for your pets yourself or rely on supermarket pet food. Just make sure that whatever you’re feeding them is healthy and nutritious.

Animals understand the language of touch better than humans. If they snuggle up to you when you’re sleeping or sitting on the couch, then that means that they yearn for your presence and attention. Indulge them and hug them. Cuddle with them when you’re sleeping and pet them. They are going to love that and you all the more.

Health is actually wealth thus you need your pets in perfect health. For that, you need to pay attention to their health and wellbeing. Taking your pets to the park or including them in your daily exercises would not only strengthen the bond between you guys but would keep you both in the best of shape. Taking them on walks and helping them stay lean would help them stay protected from various diseases especially heart disease.

Communication also means having an established routine, and that can work wonders. Having your dog understand the time for food, the time for a nap, and when to take a bath helps to ease any irritations between the owner and the pet. A routine would help a pet stay more connected with its owner and the pet will eventually be more likely to spend time with the owner, especially during meal times. Animals like having a predictable routine and this would go a long way to strengthen the bond between you and your pets. Ellis helps in creating proper routines for you and your pet so that everything is aligned and the entire day runs smoothly.

After everything, pets love getting treats and being rewarded. Giving them an extra piece of chicken or a belly rub for a job well done is essential for a strong relationship between a person and their furry little friend. Moreover, when they begin to anticipate treats for good behavior, they are more likely to be on their best behavior, further making you and your pets grow closer and more respectful of each other.

In the end, just be patient!

Taking care of a pet can be both; a wonderful experience while also being quite frustrating at times. For new pet owners, it can even be confusing especially if you don’t understand what your pet needs or wants at any given time. It takes time for a bond to form and even more so to truly strengthen it. To make sure that you and your furry little partners become the best of friends, you have to be patient and keep on learning as much as you can about them, in order to be closer. It is imperative that pet owners do not get frustrated and tense but rather learn and adapt.

All in all, when it comes to pets, even the little things go a long way! Keep your pets fit, healthy, and trained. Of course, it is easier said than done but with the help of Nicole Ellis, you can rest assured your pet will be in the perfect form, physically and mentally!
