Melanie Avalon is one of the biggest names in Biohacking - here’s how she got there
The often nebulous concept of “biohacking” has become an all-encompassing buzzword in the health and wellness industry, but what does it mean?
While definitions vary, biohacking implies DIY self-optimization which encourages individuals to take their well-being, diet, and lifestyle into their own hands.
Melanie Avalon is one of the foremost authorities on the subject. She was biohacking before the term colloquially existed. Her journey into this ever-evolving world began out of necessity: When she experienced personal health challenges shortly after graduating from the University of Southern California, she resolved to take matters into her own hands.
Melanie began researching ways to implement daily changes which would optimize her health and improve her quality of life. While she didn’t know it at the time, her quest for self-improvement would change the trajectory of her entire life. As she delved deeper into the wellness world of what would ultimately become “biohacking,” and uncovered a plethora of information, she realized resources were not easy to find nor understand.
Melanie decided to become the flashlight she wished she had and started  “The Melanie Avalon Biohacking Podcast” in August 2019. Fast forward a few years, and her shows are now top health podcasts, with millions of downloads, and thousands of devoted listeners. Each week, Melanie interviews leading health and wellness experts, going beyond the easy-to-find fads to find actionable biohacking tips, tricks, and techniques which can truly help her audience upgrade their bodies, brains, and lives. Melanie’s guest list reads like a resume of the wellness world’s hottest figures, from Wim Hof to Dave Asprey to David Sinclair.
And that's not all she does: Melanie also hosts the top-performing “Intermittent Fasting Podcast” with co-host Cynthia Thurlow. The duo explores the increasingly popular intermittent fasting ("IF") lifestyle every week. Exuding a knack for sensing upcoming trends before their time, Melanie has been practicing IF for over a decade, long before it became one of the top dietary approaches of our time.
A single listen to either of Melanie’s podcasts, and it's clear she is a force you cannot and should not ignore. While she is not giving away too many details, Melanie has projects that expand far beyond podcasts, and if we have learned anything in our time with her, we expect her future ventures to be wildly successful.
You can listen to new episodes of “The Intermittent Fasting Podcast” on Mondays, and “The Melanie Avalon Biohacking Podcast” every Friday. You can also keep up with Melanie on her website, Instagram, and Facebook.
