10 Lifestyle changes to help you look younger

For those of us who are always in a rush, is there a way to turn back the clock? Amazingly, the answer is yes. Simply by implementing some small changes into your lifestyle, you can make a huge difference to the way you look.

Create a cleansing routine and stick to it

You don’t need to rifle through the most expensive brands to make a big difference to your appearance. A simple cleanse, tone and moisturise routine will have a notable impact on the youthfulness of your skin.

Stay hydrated

Drinking water is one of the most essential ways to keep your skin looking young and fresh. Dehydrated skin ages much quicker and becomes wrinkled and dry fast. Drinking eight glasses of water a day is the recommended amount; this can aid weight loss, digestion and energy and makes a visible difference to your skin.

Get plenty of sleep

They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing and this one of the simple ways to improve your lifestyle. People who don’t get a full night’s sleep suffer with bags under their eyes and visibly tired skin. No matter how hectic your schedule, always try to get a full seven or eight hours sleep and soon you’ll appear rejuvenated and young.

Make a change

Treat yourself to a new hairstyle once in a while. Go for whatever look you feel would suit you best. Whether you want to cut it short, change your colour or simply switch up your style, a new look will leave you looking fresh and youthful. Plus, you’ll be amazed at the amount of compliments you get.

Quit smoking

By now we all know how important it is to ditch the cigarettes in order to avoid deadly diseases, live longer and feel better. But did you know how much a difference smoking can make to your appearance? Quitting will take years off your appearance and make a drastic improvement on your skin.

Eat healthier

Simple changes to your diet can leave you looking and feeling ten years younger. There’s no need to drastically diet, but try to avoid trans-fat, sugary sweets and cakes, additives and preservatives where possible and try to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables a day. Healthy eating will put a youthful spring back in your step.

Stay in the shade

We all love to soak up the sun’s rays, but excessive sun worshipping takes a very visible toll on skin over the years. Recent studies have put 70% of wrinkles down to UV rays, so make sure you stay protected with high SPF sun creams and avoid tanning beds at all costs.

Take care of your hands

Veiny, wrinkled hands can be a big give-away when it comes to ageing. Keeping them well moisturised and your nails neatly manicured can help keep your overall appearance youthful and beautiful.

Keep your teeth white

A bright, white smile makes you look healthier, happier and younger. Keeping your teeth clean by regularly flossing, visiting the dentist at least every six months and using a good, high quality toothpaste will keep you looking fresh and clean.

Exercise

Regular exercise maintains a healthy weight and youthful appearance. Try to keep up with simple, gentle exercise a few times a week and you’ll soon start seeing visible changes in your image and vibrancy.
