Sumptuous Spring cocktails to make at home

As the weather warms up, it's time to take your cocktail parties to the garden. These delicous whisky-based drinks all make excellent choices

Planning a get-together but had enough of mojitos? We have you covered! These delicous whisky-based cocktails, thanks to Scottish whisky house Nc'Nean, all make excellent accompaniments for an outdoor drinks gathering.

The Huntress, Rooted, Cosmonaut, Wild Negroni, and Hat Sour Snack are all made using the Scottish whisky brand Nc'Nean's 100% organic, Botanical Spirit which is distilled with a unique combination of classic gin botanicals and local Scottish plants to create a rich and floral spirit.

The Resta Spritz and Gold Rush are made using their Organic Single Malt Scotch whisky, with flavours of citrus, peach, apricot and spice.

Resta Spritz

Ingredients

30ml Organic Single Malt Whisky

30ml Aperol

30ml ruby grapefruit juice

60ml lemonade

Thyme sprig to garnish 

Method

Fill a wine glass with cubed ice and add all the ingredients. Gently stir then garnish with thyme sprig.

Gold Rush

Ingredients

50ml Organic Single Malt Whisky

20ml Lemon Juice

20ml Honey syrup 

Method

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, then fill with cubed ice and shake hard for 12 seconds. Strain in a rocks glass filled with cubed ice.

The Huntress

Ingredients

60ml Botanical Spirit 

10ml Chablis 

10ml elderflower cordial 

Lemon twist to garnish 

Method

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass, then fill with cubed ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, then garnish with lemon twist.

Rooted

Ingredients

50ml Botanical Spirit

100ml ginger kombucha

Rosemary sprig to garnish

Method

Fill a highball glass with cubed ice and add all the ingredients. Gently stir then garnish.

Cosmonaut

Ingredients

50ml Botanical Spirit 

20ml lemon juice

1 heaped teaspoon raspberry jam

Method

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, then fill with cubed ice and shake hard for 12 seconds. Fine strain in a chilled cocktail glass.

Hat Sour Snack

Ingredients

50ml Botanical Spirit 

20ml lemon juice

1 heaped teaspoon marmalade

Orange twist to garnish 

Method

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, then fill with cubed ice and shake hard for 12 seconds. Fine strain in a chilled cocktail glass, then garnish with orange twist.

Wild Negroni

Ingredients

25ml Botanical Spirit 

25ml Campari

25ml sweet vermouth

Orange wedge to garnish

Method

Fill a rocks glass with cubed ice and add all the ingredients. Stir for 30 seconds, then garnish with orange wedge.
