How to make overnight chocolate and hazelnut oats
Looking to make your mornings a little smoother? Try this delicious chocolate and hazelnut overnight oats recipe from Chilly's so that breakfast is ready to go as soon as you wake up!
If you’re not a morning person, this is the perfect breakfast for you. It takes only ten minutes to prepare the night before—just pop the pots into the fridge and forget about them. When you get up the following day, top with fruit and nuts and you’re good to go.

Ingredients

Serves: 2
Prep: Ten minutes
Chill: Eight hours or overnight
  • 100g rolled or porridge oats
  • 240ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 200g yoghurt, such as Greek yoghurt or coconut milk yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds or hazelnuts
  • 1 small banana, sliced
  • toasted hazelnuts or flaked almonds, to garnish

Method

Put the oats, almond milk, yoghurt, chia seeds and chocolate hazelnut spread in a bowl and mix together well.
Divide the mixture between two glass screw-top jars or Food Pots and sprinkle the chopped nuts over the top. Cover with the lids or some cling film and chill in the fridge overnight, preferably for eight hours, so the oats absorb all the liquid.
The following morning, remove from the fridge and top with the banana and the toasted nuts.

Try this…

  • If you have a sweet tooth, add some stevia to taste to the oat mixture, or drizzle with maple syrup or honey.
  • Use coconut milk instead of almond milk.
  • Top with raspberries or strawberries.
