10 Flipping good pancake recipes
It’s that time of year again, we are approaching Shrove Tuesday, commonly known as Pancake Day, and so to help you get flipping in the kitchen, I’ve put together a list of ten delicious sweet and savoury pancakes!

1. Orkney pancakes

This old recipe for Orkney Pancakes would have used Beremeal in place of the oatmeal, but you have used medium oatmeal with superb results.
You need to start the batter off the night before you want to cook these pancakes, but that makes it so much easier on the Pancake Day!

2. Indian pancakes with spiced sweet potato

A different way to enjoy pancakes—hot and spicy rather than sweet! A special treat for Pancake Day in particular, and as curry is Britain’s number one takeaway, why not make some Indian inspired pancakes for Pancake Day supper!

3. Pancakes (crepes) with mascarpone cream & cranberry compote

The great thing about these pancakes is that they literally take no time whatsoever to make, the filling takes only minutes, and the pan frying doesn’t take long, before you can enjoy these gorgeous, soft parcels of deliciousness filled with sweet vanilla mascarpone and topped with slightly tart cranberry compote.

4. Seafood spelt pPancakes

If you are watching your weight, here are some healthy but tasty pancakes which will fit the bill!
These spelt pancakes are filled with spicy tomato sauce, prawns, shallots and mushrooms, making them the perfect family supper to enjoy this Pancake Day.

Bánh Xeo is a street food favourite of many Vietnamese—it’s a light savoury crepe made with rice flour and coconut milk. It’s served with an abundance of salad leaves and herbs.
Everything should be prepped before the crepes are made so they can be eaten with your hands as soon as they are done.

7. Gluten-free chocolate chip pancakes

For those who are gluten intolerant, there’s no need to miss out on pancakes!
Here’s a fabulous recipe for Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Pancakes that are sure to please the whole family, topped with banana, chocolate chips and golden syrup and with a gooey chocolate centre.

8. Grana padano & potato pancakes with prosciutto di san daniele

This recipe is perfect for an indulgent breakfast or for Pancake Day—Potato Pancakes with melted Grana Padano, slices of Prosciutto di San Daniele and topped with a poached egg.
Not only are they delicious, they’re also a great way to use up any leftover mashed potato.

9. Lace heart pancakes

With Valentine’s Day being in the same week as Pancake Day this week, here’s a lovely recipe for some heart shaped pancakes; it’s very similar to the batter used for a traditional thin “crepe” like pancake the only change being a spoonful of sugar for extra sweetness!

10. Vanilla honey pikelets with blueberries & yogurt

Easily made, these “Pikelets”, also known as “Crempog” in Wales, and “Scotch Pancakes” or “Drop Scones” in Scotland, are delicious little, fluffy pancakes resembling a thin crumpet, and are perfect for breakfast when served with honey, yogurt and fresh blueberries.
