The ultimate Christmas drinks guide

The ultimate Christmas drinks guide

Stuck for gift ideas for the drink lover in your life? Or simply looking for a choice tipple for the big day? We've got you covered.

Walcher Biostilla Amaretto Deluxe

28%, 70cl

This bottle of organic Amaretto tastes as good as it looks. Produced in Italy, the intense almond aroma is complemented perfectly by delicate notes of vanilla and cocoa beans. Unlike most Amarettos, this drink is made with almond oil, a great alternative to the artificial flavourings found in many bottles on the high street.

We loved a simple mix of Amaretto and coke for a light, festive tipple.

Says the co-founder of organic wine company Vintage Roots, Neil Palmer: “This beautiful organic Amaretto has a dense almond fragrance with subtle hints of vanilla and chocolate. Is there a better way to feed your happy this Christmas?"

Crabbies Ginger Mulled Wine

12%, 700ml

Is there any drink more festive than a steaming glass of mulled wine?

We certainly don't think so, and this blend from Crabbie's (king of the ginger beer) is perfectly spiced.

Just add fresh slices of orange and a cinnamon stick to fill your house—and belly—with the essence of Christmas.

Even better—it's gluten-free!

Italia Primivito

13.5%, 75cl

If you prefer your red wine a more understated room temperature, look to Italia Primivito for a classic, yet affordable taste.

Produced in the sunny, dry region of Puglia in South Eastern Italy, the rich, juicy taste will transport you to a sunnier climate—a welcome escape as the British winter gently freezes your toes.

The cranberry-rich taste makes it the perfect accompaniment to a Christmas dinner.

Casamigos Blanco Tequila

40%, 700ml

If you’re looking for a festive drink that’s a bit more exotic and adventurous, George Clooney is your man.

The actor co-founded the tequila company Casamigos in 2013 out of the “desire to have the perfect tequila,” and it’s safe to say, he got what he wanted. Casamigos is an incredibly smooth and fragrant tequila that doesn’t really require any lime or salt—you can sip it straight or over ice and enjoy the full, floral flavour that doesn’t burn going down.

Slingby Rhubarb Gin

40%, 70cl

This deliciously flavoured gin is dessert in a glass, ideal for when the turkey and trimmings have left you a little too stuffed to approach that Christmas pud.

Serve with elderflower tonic and fresh raspberries to really wow your guests.

Rocking Rudolph Cask Ale

This delicious seasonal brew is sure to get ale-lovers in the festive spirit.

Dark copper in colour, this premium bitter features deliciously fruity hints of red and blackcurrant along with a hint of malted toffee.

The Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso

60.7%, 70cl

Nothing says Christmas like sitting down in front of the fireplace with good company and a glass of quality whiskey. If you’re looking to try something new this year, give The Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso a go.

Matured in Spanish sherry oak casks, it boasts a rich, nutty flavour with a delightfully creamy, chocolatey finish. It’s liquid luxury worth every penny!
