10 Refreshing iced coffee and tea recipes

Cool yourself down on those hot summer days with these delicious non-alcoholic drinks. Whether you opt for an iced tea or coffee, the recipes below are flavourful and refreshing.

Healthy cold brewed green iced tea

Most commercial iced teas are made with black tea and have lots of added sugar. This recipe takes a simply made, cold brewed, delicately flavoured green tea infusion and adds carrot, apple and orange juice for a little natural sweetness and flavours.

This iced tea is simplicity itself. Quickly brew the tea using boiling water, cool, and add the fruit.

All the summery delights of a fruit cup but without the decisions about who’s going to be the designated driver.

This is a milk based iced tea but brewed with Japanese green matcha tea powder. There’s no steeping or waiting, just blend and drink.

Strawberry nettle iced tea

Nettle tea is a little off the wall, with many enthusiasts, but there are some who warn that it should be avoided during pregnancy.

However, if it is for you, dried leaves are available online and the tea in this recipe is sweetened with strawberries.

Taking inspiration from the flavours of Sierra Leone, this infusion is made with rooibos tea so that it's caffeine free.

Worth making even if you don’t have a lemongrass plant in the back garden.

Cold brew coffee is very different from coffee brewed with hot water. Steeping ground coffee overnight gives a smooth and delicate drink without bitterness, and this recipe adds cardamom for an edge of spice.

Cold brew mocha and Kit Kat slam

Not just a straightforward cold brew this time, but a mocha cold brew made with a blend of ground coffee and cocoa nibs.

The Kit Kat slam is a UK accessible variation on the Aussie Tim Tam Slam, for that full sugar and chocolate hit.

Another cold brew, but this time the mocha comes in the form of easy to make ice cubes. Enjoy the change in the taste as the ice melts.

And now I’m going to break all my rules. Not only is this cold coffee made with instant, but it contains alcohol as well. But if you’re not the designated driver, and want something a little sinful, why not an Irish cream coffee concoction?
