Exploring the lives, loves and lies of a new workplace, this favourite BBC One series returns with more compelling stories of what can happen when an apparently simple deception spirals out of control and shatters lives.
Award-winning writer Danny Brocklehurst has created a fresh web of intrigue, secrecy and mayhem for a range of new characters, all brought to life by an impressive ensemble cast including Matt Di Angelo, Angela Griffin and Griff Rhys Jones.
Series one was set on the shop floor and head office of a motor showroom. We watched as Beth, whose husband has mysteriously disappeared, became involved with her married boss. Marty fought for his job with a desperate lie, Paracetamol Pete tried to deal with his horrendous gambling debts, and receptionists Tracy and Viv paid the price for attempting to fast-track their way to a life of luxury.
In the latest series, the action takes place in a call centre and warehouse of a sports sales company in Wales as it delves into the lives of a group of ordinary people who find themselves in desperate situations. They may see each other every day, but these people really don’t know much about the lives of their colleagues. Packed with humour, heartache and shock revelations, each episode focuses on a different character and their story.
The first episode of series two sees good-natured Head of Sales, Joe (Con O’Neill), take drastic measures to keep an eye on his family after he suspects his wife of having an affair. He installs hidden cameras around his home but will he soon realise that ignorance is bliss?

His strange behaviour catches the eye of General Manager, Jenna (Angela Griffin). Highly organised and always immaculately dressed, Jenna takes everything in her stride, much to the awe of her submissive PA, Holly (Kimberly Nixon), whose insecurities lead her to believe that everyone else’s lives are more exciting than her own. But, what Holly doesn’t realise is that beneath Jenna’s super cool exterior lurks a dark past.
Down in the warehouse, sharp-tongued forklift driver Wendy Walker (Rebekah Staton) shows she will go to any lengths to protect those she loves. Office joker and warehouse manager Toke (Joel Fry) has an alter-ego that puts his generous nature to the test and one-half of office couple, warehouse picker Fletch (Matt Di Angelo) finds his happy marriage on the rocks when his estranged father reappears in his life.
Ordinary Lies starts Tuesday 18 October on BBC One at 9pm
