The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

The second instalment of Peter Jackson’s trilogy sees Bilbo’s arrival at the dragon Smaug’s lair.

Lush adaptation of the acclaimed memoir by Eric Lomax (played here by Colin Firth), recounting his harrowing experiences in a Japanese POW camp.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Kenneth Branagh directs and stars in this good old-fashioned spy thriller, which also features Chris Pine as the latest actor to play the legendary CIA agent. Keira Knightley co-stars.

Dallas Buyers Club

Loosely based on the life and experiences of American Aids-sufferer Ron Woodroof and featuring unmissable Oscar-winning performances from Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto.

Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl thrill as rivals James Hunt and Niki Lauda, as both men try to win the 1976 Formula 1 Championship.

Sunshine on Leith

Dexter Fletcher directs this big-hearted love story, based on the hit musical inspired by The Proclaimers.
