America's wackiest hotels

These four hotels are hotels like no other. Really going that extra mile to give you an experience like nowhere else. Whether you would like to sleep underwater, in a cave or on a boat, America has it covered.

Sleep below the surface

Jules’ Undersea Lodge,Key Largo,  Florida

This gem, which is named after 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea author Jules Verne, is the world’s only underwater hotel. Lonely Planet says that this former marine research station has been transformed into a “delightfully cheesy” lodge. Guests must make the 21-foot dive (you don’t have to be certified) to its two rooms, fully stocked kitchen, and showers. Don’t want to cook? The staff will dive and deliver pizza in waterproof containers!
